For the Joy of Human Love

Today I woke up with a deep certainty resting inside my thoughts. Yes, I was certain that it was thanksgiving, almost my favorite holiday, and I was certain that I am unconditionally loved by God. What proof do we need when we can simply look at the magnitude of gifts He has given to us.  Today, each member of the house slowly crept out of their rooms, the coffee pot was passed around and the Christmas music was played immediately. Nothing fills my heart more than being with the family in the kitchen, both very important aspects of my life. J And then we had the opportunity to go to Mass together and this song was playing as we walked into the church. Such a beautiful song, the epitome of what I am thankful for. I can’t believe I can wake up every day with this knowledge engraved into my heart and soul, that I am a daughter of God, a daughter of two incredible parents, a sister to ten and UNCONDITIONALLY loved by all of them. And I hope you all know, that I UNCONDITIONALLY love you too. I wish we could share more moments together, but at least we are able to know these such things: That no matter how old we grow, we will always be KINDRED SPIRITS and that our van will never die. Goodnight dear family.

For The Beauty of The Earth
by Folliott S. Pierpoint, 1864

For the beauty of the earth,
For the glory of the skies;
For the love which from our birth,
Over and around us lies;
Lord of all, to Thee we raise
This, our hymn of grateful praise.

For the wonder of each hour,
Of the day and of the night;
Hill and vale and tree and flow'r,
Sun and moon, and stars of light;
Lord of all, to Thee we raise
This, our hymn of grateful praise.

For the joy of ear and eye,
For the heart and mind's delight;
For the mystic harmony,
Linking sense to sound and sight;
Lord of all, to Thee we raise
This, our hymn of grateful praise.

For the joy of human love,
Brother, sister, parent, child;
Friends on Earth and friends above,
For all gentle thoughts and mild;
Lord of all, to Thee we raise
This, our hymn of grateful praise.

For Thy church that evermore,
Lifteth holy hands above;
Off'ring up on ev'ry shore,
Her pure sacrifice of love;
Lord of all, to Thee we raise
This, our hymn of grateful praise.

For Thy virgins robes of snow,
For Thy maiden mother mild,
For Thyself, with hearts aglow,
Jesu, Victim undefiled.
Lord of all, to Thee we raise
This, our hymn of grateful praise.

For Thyself, best Gift Divine,
To the world so freely given,
For that great, great love of Thine,
Peace on earth and joy in heaven.
Lord of all, to Thee we raise
This, our hymn of grateful praise.
 Amen.
